I’d have to listen to more than one song before I gave an opinion.

So I discovered this bluegrass folk indie band called The Keeps. They’re pretty fantastic. They’ve got songs that will leave you feeling triumphant as the first drop of spring rain bringing life to the earth or leaving you feeling as low as a coal miner’s daughter who just lost her father to black lung.
The Keeps are J.C. on banjo, Aidan on guitar and Aleszu (Al-LESH-shoe) on mandolin… three guys living in Brooklyn. The band’s love for the Americana roots and bluegrass tradition mixes abstract country poetics with dynamic foot-stomping and yields a little more of what New York needs: more black eyes and bad tattoos.
They’ve been kind enough to offer their album for free, but if you like em’ you should buy the album. Even if you only spend a dollar, every penny will help them move forward towards recording more great music. You can listen to the rest of their album as well as purchase it at http://thekeeps.bandcamp.com/
Here is a track off their self titled album. If you dig it spread the word, it would be greatly appreciated. Reblog this if you can and help share this awesome band with the world.

Another track from the new album to entice you to download the whole thing. Pay what you will. We guarantee you’ll like this collection of foot-stomping, knee-slappin, sea-shantyin’ shitkickers we recorded in our friend’s basement in Brooklyn.

The banjo work is great. I love Ticking Clock. The lead singer’s voice is pretty classic, crooning and nice. c:
Hard to believe you guys are from Brooklyn.
